12/05/09:
Thanksgiving was good. It seemed like it was just yesterday
that we had the last one. I guess my old and tired, cold bones are
gettin' awful forgetful, dagnabbit!
Sorry for the year long delay. It's not that I'm
lazy...I'm just a little "distracted", sometimes.
I've been writing movie scripts and I finished an
interesting one that is about a man who loses his wife and his twin
daughters to a plane crash. He is so despondent that he eventually "walks
out" of his life, accidentally. But an evil, ancient spirit takes his body
and has every intention of wreaking havoc upon the world and the beings
that inhabit it. He considers them "vermin". The man has a choice to make.
He has to prove himself worthy and fight to get his body back. It's a bit
"out there" but I enjoyed this script. I love writing about the crazy
stuff in life that doesn't make any sense but if you stop and listen in
between dusk and dawn...the answer is there. To find that magical, elusive
place betwixt the worlds is...intoxicating. If you can. The chase never
ends, as it should be...as it should be.
Sorry. I'm not nuts. I'm just trying to express
honesty. Sometimes it looks like madness. But for the most part...honesty
looks like...HOPE.
THE SUN NEVER SETS ON HOPE.

S.O.S. - A new
conceptual CD idea. Last week I was able to hang on to a song from a
dream. It's very difficult. Dreams reside in the short term memory part of
the brain and I had to write it out and play it over and over to keep it
in my mind. I started the words:
I believe when I woke up this
morning that my conscious soared through the break of
dawn,
I can see when I wake up each
morning I should join the Kings and I should join the
Pawns,
'Cause everyone has a right
to life and meaning, if you close the door on one then you're closed to
all.
I want it to have a huge, uplifting choral
sound. It's like I stole an apple off a tree in Heaven, ran my ass off and
they're trying to get it back. Mmmm.....Heaven Apple. No way I'm giving it
back.

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a good one. I thought
this would be a good place to start this "personal log" of sorts. I'm
working on script ideas. I wish I could keep my mind on just one at a time
but it's impossible. One is a romantic comedy, one is an action thriller
and one is a story of the triumphant human spirit. I'm going to try to
keep writing as often as I can so I can keep everyone up to date, should
they be interested. Seeya soon. - Jason.
